Profile of Michigan Defense Attorney Charles H. Marr

Lawyer in Northville serving the tri-county area

Charles H. Marr has been involved with the Michigan criminal justice system for more than 35 years. Before attending law school, Mr. Marr worked for the Prosecuting Attorneys office in Detroit, and directly assisted many county prosecutors. He received his law degree from the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University and continued his focus on criminal law.

Over the next 20 years Mr. Marr gained extensive knowledge of criminal procedure, working as a prosecutor in Wayne County and as a department head in narcotics forfeitures. For six years he chaired the policy committee of the State Bar of Michigan Criminal Law Section, making recommendations to the state legislature regarding improvements and innovations in state criminal statutes.

Mr. Marr is recognized for his insight on criminal law. He has been a consultant at the American Prosecutors Research Institute, now a part of the National District Attorneys Association. He also spent three years working with the National College of District Attorneys to conduct training seminars for new state and federal prosecutors.

After nearly 20 years in the prosecutor's office, Mr. Marr recognized the need of criminal defendants for highly skilled representation. He opened his criminal defense practice in 1993, putting his knowledge of prosecution strategies to work on behalf of his clients.
